Most rooflight problems start at the roof, not the glass
A good rooflight in a badly built opening still leaks, steams up and loses heat. We plan the whole detail — structure, upstand, membrane, reveal — before we order the unit.
Measured, not guessed
We survey the opening, the roof build-up and the joists, then specify the unit to the hole — not the other way round.
Upstands done right
Correct height above the finished roof, insulated, square, with the membrane dressed up and over before the glass goes on.
Light without the glare
Solar-control glass, blinds and opening units planned in, so the room is bright in winter and comfortable in summer.
Fixed price, in writing
Your quote lists the product, the work and the price. Nothing starts and nothing is paid until you have agreed it.

What a skylight survey checks
A rooflight survey answers four questions before anything is ordered: what size the structural opening really is, what the roof is built from, how water will be kept out at the upstand or flashing, and how the room will feel with the new light.
- Opening size, squareness and joist or rafter direction
- Roof covering, insulation depth and upstand height
- Orientation, overheating risk and whether you need an opening unit
- Planning, building control and any party wall or listed-building issues
Customer reviews will appear here
We are a new brand within the S&K Group, so we only show reviews left by real customers on an independent platform — never written by us. If we have fitted a rooflight for you, we would value an honest review.
No rating is shown until real reviews exist.

Common skylight questions
Do you cover my area?
We survey and fit across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Remote and island addresses are by arrangement — send your postcode and we will confirm.
Is the survey free?
Yes, for new installations. Repair and maintenance visits are charged, and we tell you the visit price first.
Do you supply only, or fit too?
We supply and fit. We also fit rooflights you have already bought, after checking the product and the opening.
How quickly can you fit?
Manufacturers typically quote two to four weeks for standard rooflights; bespoke, structural and motorised units take longer. Your quote states the lead time.
Do I need planning permission?
Usually not for a rooflight on a house within the permitted development limits. Rules differ by nation: flats are not covered, listed buildings need listed building consent, and in Wales, Scotland and NI a rooflight in a conservation area needs permission. See our planning guide.
Do I need building regulations approval?
New openings and extensions go through building control. In England and Wales, replacements can often be self-certified through a competent person scheme; Scotland and Northern Ireland have their own routes. We tell you which applies.
Can a skylight be fitted into an existing flat roof?
Yes. We form the opening, trim joists, build an insulated upstand, re-waterproof and make good the ceiling.
Will a rooflight make my room too hot?
It can on a south-facing roof with clear glass. Solar-control glass, an opening unit and a blind keep the room comfortable.
